consciousness // freedom // hypersition
If the medium is the message, we must transport our audience into a transformative audiovisual tunnel, where their reality shifts and new perspectives are awakened, so the possibility of future freedoms and states of being may be imagined and entered. We are being asked to take on new shapes, to include new spaces and thought patterns by the times. We must create pathways for these expansions and remembrances.
Our narrative first depicts a Deep Fake Oracle delivering words of encouragement to follow her signal. A seeker (The Rider) follows this signal in the barren desert, in turn followed by a paramilitary drone. The Rider approaches an abandoned mine and confirms his course by encountering a plaque bearing the decimal numogram, a symbol for time sorcery. He sends a picture of the object to a colleague (The Operator) and descends into the shaft. In the darkness, he confronts a sea of phantom bodies who awaken the mountain spirits. The Operator finds their neuro-engineer, Chopper in an effort to stave off any danger their collective may face. WhenThe Rider makes it out of the shaft, he comes upon a fellow seeker (The Viewer) watching the Deep Fake Oracle on a laptop in a blown out shelter. When the paramilitary force executes its target, The Viewer disappears and The Rider contentedly takes her place.
We wish to disrupt the pervasive power structures allowing for state sponsored violence towards a vision of unity, where our cultures and ideologies are not at war, but are accepting of the freedom bestowed to us by nature/source/consciousness. We are encouraging systems that evolve consciousness past restriction and boundary meant to stabilize a status quo. We are encouraging a felt sense of oneness within a truly biodiverse cosmology, without enemy, where the only tension lies between what exists in waking and what exists in dreams.
The act of producing this project is, in effect, testing code.
Those able to transmute violent energy into transcendent or evolutionary energy are those able to hold themselves accountable for their actions with a consistent objective of living in integrity with the signals they receive most deeply. While many are unaware of or uncommitted to a path forward without violence, they may be swept up in the evolutionary leap once the scales are tipped.
As Continuum Hack refers to pursuing perceived impossibilities or paradoxes, such as gaining access to an already available spectrum of experience, we utilize cutting-edge technologies to investigate the nature of consciousness evolution through our biological extension, the technium.
By inviting the audience to imagine where we are collectively heading in the face of internal and external threats to existence, they enter into an imaginal space. After they engage with the piece, they will be able to access the Oracle's signal from anywhere, articulate the future they wish to pull into the present, and share it.
This vehicle is for anyone unable to accept the current status quo breaking down before us, with the desire to form a propulsive vision.
Hyper-aware of moving into an increasingly cybernetic life, we created characters, symbols, score, and modes of production to play out an elliptical narrative addressing how the organic and synthetic might mesh to create harmony and new freedoms.
Common questions conjured upon viewing:
What is the nature of the signal (analogue or digital) being followed by the Rider?
Why does the transmission lead the Rider to a deep fake?
Where do the followers go, and is it only after (some kind of ) death?

Drawing from visions, Wilson B. Stiner has navigated liminal spaces as an artist and filmmaker since he could put pen to paper. Translating the ineffable in various forms where artistic expression and technology meet, his work has been presented in exhibition, on the small screen, big screen, and in VR goggles. Exploring themes of identity and the line between fantasy and reality, his motion picture-centered communications leverage a regenerative storytelling approach to expanding possibilities within the viewer.
